Introduction to the Basics of English Communication Skills

Week 1
Week 1

You will develop basics of English communication skills such as introducing yourself, greeting others, and asking simple questions. You will learn basic grammar concepts such as sentence structure, verb tenses, and parts of speech.

Development of Reading and Writing Skills for Basic Communication

Week 2-4
Week 2-4

During the second and third weeks, you will develop your reading comprehension skills through a variety of authentic texts such as news articles, short stories, and essays. You will also improve your writing skills through guided writing tasks such as letter writing, short summaries, and descriptions. Vocabulary and grammar will be built through reading and writing exercises.

Listening and Speaking Skills for Daily Communication

Week 4 - 5
Week 4 - 5

You will develop your listening comprehension skills through authentic materials such as news broadcasts, podcasts, and dialogues. You will also improve youe pronunciation and intonation through speaking exercises such as tongue twisters and pronunciation drills. You will have guided conversation practice to build fluency and accuracy in spoken English.

Intermediate English Language Skills for Effective Communication

Week 6 - 8
Week 6 - 8

The sixth to eighth weeks, you will build on basic grammar concepts and will cover more advanced grammar topics such as phrasal verbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. You will develop more complex writing skills such as summarizing, writing argumentative essays, and expressing opinions. You will also expand your vocabulary through reading and writing exercises.

Advanced Writing Skills for Academic and Professional Opportunities

Week 9 - 10
Week 9 - 10

The ninth and tenth weeks, you will develop your writing skills for academic and professional purposes. You will learn how to write academic papers such as research papers, essays, and critiques. You will build on advanced grammar concepts and will focus on writing techniques and styles such as peer review and feedback.

Oral Presentation and Debating Skills for Effective Communication

Week 11 - 12
Week 11 - 12

You will develop your presentation skills and techniques such as body language, eye contact, and speech structure. You will also build debate skills and strategies such as logical arguments, counterarguments, and rebuttals. You will focus on improving your pronunciation and intonation for effective communication in a public setting.

Where are you based?

Our offices are located in Kigali, Rwanda. All programs offered are presented in-person and online, therefore you can complete a course from home or on the go; you just need a stable internet connection and enough time to complete your course.

What support will my employees have?

Your employees will receive personalized support from their Head Tutor and Success Adviser throughout their learning journey to ensure course completion and learning gain. The Head Tutor offers academic support and responds to queries relating to the course material, and the Success Adviser assists with administrative queries such as extensions or possible challenges when uploading assignments.

What are my payment options?

We have a few payment options available for companies that enable flexibility to meet your budgeting needs. One of our payment methods includes tokens – this is credit that can be purchased at any time and redeemed towards courses for employees to ensure that you can plan ahead and budget for your team’s ongoing training. What happens if I do not submit my employees to a certain course date in time? Can we take the next course?

Yes, the courses run throughout the year and we can schedule your team to be a part of the next course presentation. Your account manager can help resolve any other queries in this regard.

Can I see how my employees are doing? How can I track their progress?

Your account manager will provide you with performance reporting of your employees showing their progress, grades, and overall performance on the course.
